Kohinoor diamond worth $591 Million

This is Trending on Twitter in India ”Kohinoor” and Indians want king Charles III to return Kohinoor 105 carat diamond worth $591 million.

It is the name of the most costly Diamond on the planet and has a long history with the Royal family, having been worn on crowns by generations of Queens.

It was just one of 2,800 stones set in the crown made for King Charles III’s grandmother, the Queen Mother.

But, there is some discussion about whether the 105-carat oval-formed precious Diamond belongs to the Place of Windsor.

The valuable Diamond has been battled about for a really long time, to such an extent that English imperial legend says the precious stone will carry misfortune to anyone who wears it.

Indians believe it came from the south of their country, in what is now modern day Andhra Pradesh.

With the passing of Queen Elizabeth II, many in the country are ramping up the campaign on Twitter for the $591 million Diamond Kohinoor to be sent back to them.

Trend Started on Twitter in just 8 minutes after the official announcement the Queen had died, one Indian Twitter user posted that ”we want our Kohinoor back”.

This is not the first time India has asked for the Kohinoor back, In 2000 Indian parliamentarians signed a letter to Britain calling for the Kohinoor to be given back. When then UK prime minister David Cameron visited India in 2013, The campaign for the diamond’s return increased again.

India is not the only country that lays claim to the diamond, Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Iran they all say the Diamond Kohinoor should be returned to them. But the royal family claims it is its property, however it recognizes the precious stone most likely originated in India.
